Memorable Manitobans: Humphrey Lloyd Hime (1833-1903)

Photographer.

Born in Ireland, he was the photographer and surveyor for the second year of the Canadian expedition to Red River led by Henry Youle Hind in 1858. His photographs, including the first of the Red River Settlement, were published in 1860. He later moved into business, becoming president of the Toronto Stock Exchange.
