Memorable Manitobans: Hugh Gerald Gibson Herklots (1903-1971)Cleric, author, historian. An Anglican theologian and church historian, he taught at St. John’s College, Winnipeg, in the 1930s. His memoirs of these years were published as The First Winter: A Canadian Chronicle (1935). He also wrote Paper Aeroplanes: A Book of Essays (1931) and Pioneer Days in the Western Church: The Early History of the Anglican Province of Rupert’s Land (1933).
