Accountant.
Born around 1926, one of three children of John Hawryluk (c1893-1981) and Paraska “Polly” Zolobaniuk (1903-1965), he worked as an accountant in the firm William Hawryluk and Company.
He ran for public office numerous times, sometimes as an Independent, sometimes for the Social Credit Party, and in 1979 for the Western Democracy Party. He ran for Mayor of Winnipeg in 1979, 1980, and 1983. At the provincial level, he was a candidate in the 1971 Wolseley by-election, 1973 Logan general election, 1979 River Heights by-election, 1986 St. Johns general election, and 1990 Point Douglas general election. Federally, he ran in the 1978 St. Boniface by-election, 1974 and 1984 Winnipeg North general elections, and 1988 Winnipeg North Centre general election.
On 27 August 1945, he married Grace Bertha Schultz (?-?) at Winnipeg and they had a daughter, Gail Hawryluk. The family lived at several addresses through the years, including 824 Alfred Avenue (circa 1953), 873 Fleet Avenue (circa 1967), and 1830 Ross Avenue (circa 1973).
He died at Miami, Florida on 10 December 1991 and was buried in the Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
