Memorable Manitobans: Walter B. Hattin (1869-?)Farmer. Born in Wellington County, Ontario on 3 April 1869, son of Joseph Hattin and Emily Harris, he worked on the family farm until March 1889 when he came to Manitoba and worked as a farm labourer for two years. He then rented his own farm for eight years until he was able to purchase 320 acres in Township 11, Range 26 near Virden. On 8 February 1889, he married Annie Younger in Wellington County. They had four children: Olive Hattin, Robert Hattin, Joseph Hattin, and Ida Hattin. The family attended the Methodist Episcopal Church. Sources:The Story of Manitoba by F. H.
