Memorable Manitobans: Christian Arthur Webster Glover (1903-?)

Civil servant.

Born at Montreal, Quebec on 25 February 1903, one of four children of Christian Edward Charles Glover (1874-1951) and Jessie Bell McDonald (1874-1973), he came to Winnipeg in 1905. After being trained in accounting, he worked as an internal auditor for the Canadian Co-operative Wheat Producers, Chief Auditor for the City of Winnipeg, and Comptroller-General of Manitoba (1938-1944). In February 1944, he resigned to become Assistant Comptroller for the Canadian Wheat Board.

On 30 June 1932, he married Mary Ann Benson (?-?) at Winnipeg.
