Municipal official.
Daughter of Mary and Edward Todd, she married Nachum “Norman” Geller in 1942 (1918-2000), and they went on to have four children. They made their home and raised their family in Winnipeg.
She and the family enjoyed cottage life at Winnipeg Beach for forty years during the summers, but it was upon retirement that they made the place their permanent home, and where she found a new vocation, that of elected councillor for the Town of Winnipeg Beach. She enjoyed this role for 12 years and cited among her accomplishments her involvement in bringing about a three-cell waste-water treatment lagoon, a low pressure sewer system, a Tiny Tots Child Care facility, and the installation of a Peter Toth statue called “Anishinaabe.”
She was known for her steadfast belief that everything could be accomplished with perseverance, whether in politics or daily life, if one was willing to do the work, and for her strong opinions about most topics.
She died at Selkirk on 5 November 2010.
