Hotelier.
Probably from Simcoe, Ontario, he was a Winnipeg hotelkeeper and critic of the Hudson’s Bay Company. He was one of those taken prisoner by Louis Riel in the surrender of John Schultz’s house in December 1869. He was incarcerated for 66 days and was forced by the provisional government to leave the country after his release.
