Memorable Manitobans: Louis Garfinkel (c1893-1960)

Educator.

A teacher and Principal at the Hebrew School, he and wife Doba (1900-1972) had two daughters and two sons. He was a member of the Mizrachi Organization, Chesel Shel Emes Chapel, and Ateres Israel Synagogue. He founded the Winnipeg Beach community synagogue. He died at his Winnipeg home, 474 Burrows Avenue, and was buried in the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery.
