Memorable Manitobans: John Arthur Fraser (1817-1897)Pioneer. Born in Kildonan in 1817, he was locally educated. His marriage to Jane Matheson was the first among Anglophones born in Red River, and on their golden anniversary Countess Selkirk sent them an engraved teapot. Fraser was a successful farmer.
