Memorable Manitobans: James Foubister (1924-2008)Athlete. Born at Winnipeg, he graduated from Gordon Bell High School, after which he joined the Navy and served in the Second World War. When he returned home he pursued a career in sales and spent 29 years with Johnson and Johnson, retiring in 1984. For over 60 years he played, coached or officiated, professional or amateur football. He was a Winnipeg Blue Bomber (1942 to 1949), a CFL official, a founding member of the Manitoba Football Officials Association and was inducted into the Winnipeg High School Football League Hall of Fame in 2008.
