Memorable Manitobans: William Edward Emmons (1861-?)

Born in Hastings County, Ontario on 2 September 1861, he studied to be a dentist under the supervision of Dr. Neelands of Lindsay, Ontario then, from 1879 to 1882, with Dr. Benson of Winnipeg, who he assisted until 1884 when Emmons opened his own office. Periodically between 1887 and 1889, he received instruction at the Chicago College of Dental Surgery, graduating in Spring 1890.

He married Jennie McCrossan of Winnipeg on 11 June 1891,with whom he had a daughter.
