Memorable Manitobans: Frederick James “Fred” Elliott (1903-1982)

Farmer, municipal official.

Born in McCreary on 10 April 1903, son of George Elliott (1876-?) and Mabel Adaline Brook (1883-?). He began farming at Reeve in 1942 and was active within the community, serving as a Grainage Trustee, Councillor, and Reeve (1948-1949, 1954-1955) of the Rural Municipality of McCreary. On 10 December 1960, he married Marion Moore Kuppers (1914-?) at the Chalmers United Church in Winnipeg. He died at the McCreary Hospital on 24 January 1982 and was buried in the McCreary Cemetery.
