Memorable Manitobans: Maie Seater Doig (1887-1972)

Educator.

Born in Scotland on 14 November 1887, she came to Canada in 1912 and taught school at Winnipeg, serving at Cecil Rhodes School from 1915 to retirement in 1949. For a few months in early 1945, she was Acting Principal when Principal William Martin became ill. She retired in 1948 and moved to British Columbia. She died at Victoria, British Columbia on 27 June 1972.
