Memorable Manitobans: Marie Thérèse Goulet Courchaine (1912-1970)Writer. Born in St. Boniface, she was educated at St. Adolphe Convent, St. Joseph’sAcademy, and the Manitoba Normal School. She taught in the public schools andin the Oblate schools for many years. She published in newspapers throughouther life, mainly under the nom de plume “Manie-Tobie.”As well as poetry, she wrote about the Métis and their customs.
