Jeweller.
Born at Tecumseth, Ontario on 30 April 1848, son of George and Elizabeth Clarke, he was working as a jeweller at the time of his marriage, on 31 January 1875, to Emma Hannah Matthews (1849-1927) at Vaughan, Ontario. They subsequently moved to Manitoba and settled at Virden in the 1880s where he continued working as a jeweller. They had two daughters: Della Fenton Clarke (1887-?, wife of George Duncan McLean) and Norma Eloise Clarke (1888-1976, wife of George Albert Carscadden). He and his wife moved to British Columbia before 1921 where he died at Vancouver on 19 June 1929 and was buried in the Mountain View Cemetery.
