Memorable Manitobans: John Ching (1850-1927)Farmer. Born at Exeter, Huron County, 12 February 1850. Came to Manitoba in 1878. Homesteaded. Has added to land and settled his three sons. Married Sarah Ann Hayman (deceased). Married Margaret Andrew (Morden). Helped to find and locate homesteads for the early land seekers. Home was always open. Drove first homeseekers into Snowflake District. Instrumental in taking Thomas Greenway to Crystal City and locating homestead for him. Helped build and organise Zion Church many years ago.
