Memorable Manitobans: Albert Ryerson Bredin (1868-1956)

Municipal official.

Born at Carleton Place, Ontario on 16 June 1868, he married Harriet Emily Priestly (1875-?) on 19 May 1898. They had two sons: William O. Bredin (1899-?) and Henry H. Bredin (1901-?). He served as Reeve of the RM of Kildonan (1906-1908). He ran unsuccessfully in the 1910 provincial general election, 1911 federal general election, and 1913 provincial by-election. He later moved to the United States where he died at Muskegon Heights, Michigan in 1956. He is commemorated by Bredin Drive in Winnipeg.
