Community activist.
Daughter of Max Rady and Rose Bronfman, on 24 June 1952 she married architect Morley Blankstein and they had five children.
In recognition of her community service, she was inducted into the Order of Canada (1983) and Order of Manitoba (2010), and she received a Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Medal (1977), City of Winnipeg Community Service Award (1995), Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal (2002), Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012), and a Distinguished Service Award (2003) and an honorary doctorate (2014) from the University of Manitoba.
