Manitoba Organization: Civic Curling ClubLink to: This club was organized for the 1904-1905 primarily with employees of the City of Winnipeg. Harry C. Thompson and Magnus Peterson were the chief organizers. The club's original location was on McDermot Avenue just south of the Winnipeg General Hospital but the last few years of the First World War had them renting ice at the Auditorium Rink at the corner of York Avenue and Garry Street. In 1920, they moved to a new club with seven sheets on Pacific Avenue. Unfortunately, in 1931 that facility was destroyed by fire and they went back to being a renter until 1938 when they joined with the Caledonian Curling Club to form the Civic Caledonian Curling Club, in a new rink at 348 Sherbrook Street.
