Memorable Manitobans: Nathan Segal (1876-1933)

Baker.

Born in Rumania in December 1876, he came to Canada in 1891. He operated the Independent Bakery on Selkirk Avenue in Winnipeg. He and wife Bertha Heirshberg (1877-1949) had seven children: Jack Segal (1897-?), Clara Segal (1899-?), Rose Segal (1901-?), Dora Segal (1907-?), Samuel Segal (1912-?), Molly Segal (1914-?), and Sarah Segal (1915-?). He died at his Winnipeg residence, 515 Flora Avenue, on 3 October 1933.
