A stone monument in St. Malo, in the Rural Municipality of De Salaberry, was unveiled in 2012 for the 75th anniversary of credit unions in Manitoba.
Attached to the monument are two brass plaques. One, from 28 October 1962, commemorates Arthur Benoit. He was a Roman Catholic priest and founder of the St. Malo Credit Union, the first credit union in Manitoba, that opened on 12 February 1937. The other plaque was unveiled on 15 October 1987 by Jay Marine Cowan, the Minister of Co-operative Development, and Howard Russell Pawley, Premier of Manitoba, for the 50th anniversary of credit unions in Manitoba.
