A journalist for the Winnipeg Free Press, he has won a prestigious National Newspaper Award. His books include Crimes of the Century: Manitoba’s Most Notorious True Crimes (2002), Crime Stories: More of Manitoba’s Most Famous True Crimes (2004), Made In Manitoba: Best of the Open Road Stories (2011), Dams of Contention: The Rafferty–Alameda Story and the Birth of Canadian Environmental Law (2012), and Lake Agassiz: The Rise and Demise of the World’s Greatest Lake (2017).
