This large monument on Euclid Avenue in Winnipeg commemorating Ukrainian poet Markian Shashkevich (1811-1843) was dedicated on 24 September 1944. The bronze bust, made by J. Emil Brunet of Montreal, is three feet high and sits atop a 12-foot-high pedestal of red and dark grey granite cut by Brunet Monuments of Norwood.
