Formerly located on Elizabeth Street in Baldur, in the Rural Municipality of Argyle, a two-storey brick building was built in 1897 as a private bank operated and owned by Frank Albert Schultz. In 1903, the building and business were taken over by the Union Bank of Canada with Schultz carrying on as manager. He held the position until his death in 1915.
When the bank merged in 1925 with the Royal Bank of Canada, the building continued as a branch of the new company until 1977 when it was demolished and replaced with a new building.
