Historic Sites of Manitoba: Salem Reformed Church Rectory (561 Boyd Avenue, Winnipeg)

This 2½-storey wood frame and wood plank siding, American Foursquare-style house is on Boyd Avenue in Winnipeg. Measuring 24 feet by 28 feet, it was built in 1930 by day labour at a cost of about $4,500, as a rectory for the Salem Reformed Church. Its initially occupant was Reverend Carl D. Maurer (1881-1959).

Subcontractors included: G. F. Beitz and Company (plumbing and sewers) and the Chick Lumber and Fuel Company (lumber and building supplies).

At the time of a 2017 and 2026 site visits, the house was slightly modified from its original appearance.
