Historic Sites of Manitoba: Rudnersweide School No. 332 / Rudnerweide School No. 1752 (Municipality of Rhineland)

The Rudnersweide School District No. 332 was originally established in 1884 within the Rural Municipality of Douglas, however it received no provincial grant funding towards operation of the districts public classroom nor payment of any accredited school teacher wages for the vast majority of this first incarnation (1884 - Spring 1886, Fall 1889 - 1914). The lone identified teacher which lead publicly-funded school classes here was Heinrich Toews (Fall 1886 - Fall 1888). Starting in 1890, Department of Education records identified the district by only its numerical designation, with reference to the Rudnersweide [or Rudnerweide] name thereafter discontinued. By 1905, both the district number and district name were omitted from Department registers and the district considered effectively defunct.

In May 1914, the Rudnerweide School District was formally re-established and a one-room schoolhouse operated at SW6-2-2W in what is now the Municipality of Rhineland. In 1965, the district was dissolved and its area became part of the New Hope Consolidated School District.

Among the teachers of Rudnerweide School were Mr. Derksen, John I. Warkentin, Frank Dreidger, Jacob Penner, Mildred Toews, Margaret Reimer, P. A. Schellenberg, Died Gerbrandt, Johnny Martens, Mary Peters, Elizabeth Dyck, and Mr. Janzen.
