Historic Sites of Manitoba: Moore's Service Station (260 Kennedy Street, Winnipeg)

Formerly located on Kennedy Street in Winnipeg, a one-storey wood frame, sheet metal, and stucco building, measuring 20 feet by 28 feet, was built in 1931 by contractor John Richard Williams at a cost of about $1,500. It was intended as a service station for Moore’s Taxi Limited, operated by George Moore. The building originally had two gasoline pumps that sold Imperial Oil brand gasoline and a small office for the service station attendant.

The building was demolished in the 1950s and the site is now occupied by another commercial building.
