This one-storey, red-brown brick and stone-faced building at the northwest corner of Main Street and Pritchard Avenue in Winnipeg, measuring 30 by 110 feet, was built in 1940 by the Winnipeg Supply and Fuel Company at a cost of about $8,000, for the Government Liquor Control Commission (later the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission). It operated as a liquor store, part of the province’s system for regulating the sale and use of alcohol.
At the time of a 2026 site visit, the building was slightly modified from its original appearance and was occupied by a flower shop.
