Historic Sites of Manitoba: McGowan Park / Seven Oaks Park (127 Rupertsland Boulevard, Winnipeg)

This park at the foot of Rupertsland Boulevard and Jones Street in West Kildonan (now part of Winnipeg) was established in 1994 on land donated by Anne Elizabeth “Nancy” Mermagen (1908-1996, daughter of Ernest Walter Moltke Mermagen). The property was originally the estate of Harriet Inkster McMurray (1846-1922) and featured the McMurray House until it was demolished in 1997. Originally known as McGowan Park, it has since been renamed Seven Oaks Park.
