This one-storey, wood frame building at the northeast corner of Main Street at Park Avenue in Manitou, in the Municipality of Pembina, was built in 1890 as a church for a Methodist congregation, replacing an earlier structure brought to this site from Manitoba City.
In 1924, when the congregation merged with that of nearby St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church to become St. Andrew’s United Church, this building became a Roman Catholic church. During the Second World War, it was used as an armoury then, following the war, as a fire hall. By the late 1990s, it was a recycling depot for the town. Presently (2025), it is a storage warehouse for the Pembina Valley Conservation District.
A manse associated with the Methodist church is still standing nearby and remains in use as a private residence.
