Historic Sites of Manitoba: Kelly Block (20 Eighth Street, Brandon)

A brick building at this site on the west side of Eighth Street, between Pacific and Rosser avenues in Brandon, was constructed in late 1904 for miller Andrew Kelly. The three-storey structure had retail and office space on its main floor and residential apartments on the upper two floors. It was destroyed by an arson fire on 8 March 1982 in which four residents died. The site is presently vacant.
