This park at the northwest corner of Ness Avenue and Brooklyn Street in Winnipeg commemorates David Johnston who served as a St. James School Board trustee from 1945 to 1953 and a St. James alderman from 1953 to 1968. A monument in the park was unveiled in July 1985 by Johston's wife and family, along with members of the Winnipeg city council from the St. James-Assiniboia area: Robert Oliver “Bob” Douglas, William Jae Eadie, James Arthur “Jim” Ernst, and Eric Stefanson.
