Historic Sites of Manitoba: Goulden Conservation Monument (RM of Prairie Lakes)

A monument at this site northwest of Dunrea in the Rural Municipality of Prairie Lakes commemorates the acquisition of land here from Raymond Cote and the development of the S Lake Project by the Manitoba Habitat Heritage Corporation. On 19 August 1998, it was dedicated to Richard C. Goulden, the late Chief Executive Officer of the organization, at a ceremony attended by Manitoba Wildlife Branch director Brian Gillespie and Goulden’s wife Veleda, daughter Elin, mother Florence, and brother Herb.
