This 2½-storey red-brown brick and stucco house at the southeast corner of Scotia Street and Luxton Avenue in Winnipeg, measuring 33.8 feet by 52.9 feet, was designed and built in 1921 by local contractor Arthur John Bonnett for funeral director Arthur Bertram Gardiner at a cost of about $20,000. A one-storey brick and stucco two-car garage, measuring 21 feet by 28 feet, was also designed by built by Bonnett later in 1921 at a cost of about $2,500.
