The Frontenac School District No. 2217 was established in March 1930 and a schoolhouse operated at Dufrost in the Rural Municipality of DeSalaberry. In 1964, it became Frontenac Consolidated School District No. 2430 when it was consolidated with St. Isidore School District No. 2249. Three years later, it became part of the Red River School Division. After the school closed, it became part of a seed-cleaning plant that, at the time of a site visit in August 2014, was still in operation. The northern-most part of the two-classroom building was present, and the original wainscotting was still visible within the structure. The southern-most half of the building had been removed sometime in the past.
