Historic Sites of Manitoba: United Grain Growers Grain Elevator / Manitoba Pool Grain Elevator B (Dunrea, RM of Prairie Lakes)

A 22,000-bushel wooden grain elevator in Dunrea, on the CNR Hartney Subdivision in what is now the Rural Municipality of Prairie Lakes, was built in 1911 by the Manitoba Elevator Commission. Sold around 1926 to the United Grain Growers, its capacity was increased to 32,000 bushels in 1927 and to 39,000 bushels in 1945. Sold to Manitoba Pool Elevators in 1948, it was closed in 1981 and later demolished.
