The Cuthbert School District was established formally in March 1891 and a one-room schoolhouse operated at W20-3-28W in what is now the Municipality of Two Borders. The building was later moved to NW13-3-29W.
Among the teachers of Cuthbert School were J. H. Dean (1891-1892), Joseph Armstrong (1893), Maggie Strike (1894), Aggie Yeoman (1895), J. F. Morrison (1896-1897), Mona C. Sterling (1898), David Mundell (1900), B. E. Rothwell (1901), Ethel M. Blain (1902), W. R. Morrison (1903-1904), W. Clark (1915), Ida Martin, Grace Dandy, Mary Riddell, Phyllis Hathaway, Vina Dandy (1919), Hazel Miller (1920), and Murdock McIvor (1922-1923).
After the school closed in 1923, the building was moved to Pierson where it was converted into a private residence. The district was dissolved in 1937.
