Formerly located at the southeast corner of Jarvis Avenue and McKenzie Street, adjacent to the Canadian Pacific Railway yards, in Winnipeg, a one-storey brick building, measuring 20.11 feet by 57.10 feet, was designed by Herbert Edward Matthews, district resident architect of the Dominion Department of Public Works. It was built in 1927 by the construction firm of Macaw and Macdonald at a cost of about $17,160, as a grain inspection building for the railway.

The building has been demolished and no vestiges of it remain today.
