Historic Sites of Manitoba: Blenheim School No. 173 (Municipality of Prairie View)

The Blenheim School District was established formally in June 1880 and a one-room schoolhouse operated at SE14-16-27W in what is now the Municipality of Prairie View. The district was dissolved in late 1911 and its catchment area became part of the Birtle Consolidated School District.

Among the teachers of Blenheim School were W. H. Cartwell (Spring 1885, Spring 1886 - Fall 1886, & Spring 1888 - Fall 1889), Winifred P. “Winnie” Hayes (Spring-Fall 1887), Frances A. Graham (Spring-Fall 1890), H. G. Wakefield (Spring 1891 - Fall 1892), J. J. Hefferman? (Spring - pt Fall 1893), E. A. Hall (pt Fall 1893 - Fall 1894), F. L. Doyle (Spring 1895 - Fall 1896), F. N. Ireland (Spring 1897), Agnes Stewart (Fall 1897), Katie H. Moore (Spring 1898 - Spring 1899), Louisa J. Irvin (pt Fall 1899), Ida F. Yeandle (pt Fall 1899, pt Fall 1900, & Fall 1901), Mary B. H.
