A Methodist congregation at Benito, in what is now the Municipality of Swan Valley West, held its first service in a newly constructed church on 12 July 1908. It became Benito United Church in 1925 with the unification of Methodist, Presbyterian, and Congregational faiths in Canada. The Benito United Church amalgamated officially with the Kenville United Church in 1959 although they were part of a three-way charge, with Durban United Church, as of 1955.
