Historic Sites of Manitoba: Alexander-Griswold Conservation Monument (RM of Whitehead)

A monument alongside the Trans-Canada Highway in the RM of Whitehead was erected in 1982 to commemorate the completion of a wetland restoration project in this area, undertaken by Ducks Unlimited Canada with support from the Manitoba government, the Rural Municipality of Whitehead, the Rural Municipality of Sifton, and local landowners, with financial support from the State of Illinois in recognition of sportsman and conservationist Dr. Frank C. Bellrose (1916-2005).
