Manitoba Photographers: Walter James McKim (1877-1954)

Born at Warwick, Ontario on 11 November 1877, eldest child of Walter Palmer McKim (1853-1946) and Harriett Alice Letitia Thompson (1853-1940), he came to Manitoba with his family where his father worked as a furniture dealer at Deloraine. He and wife Lillian Mae Curtis (1880-1912) had at least one child, Pearl Curtis McKim (1900-?). For a few years, he was an itinerant photographer at several towns in southern Manitoba before moving to British Columbia in 1909. He died at Trail, BC on 20 September 1954.
