Betty Jane Wylie

Writer, playwright.

Born at Winnipeg in 1931, she graduated from the University of Manitoba with an MA in English. She left Winnipeg in 1967 when her husband William T. Wylie (1927-1973), administrator of the Manitoba Theatre Centre, was appointed General Manager of the Stratford Festival Theatre. In recognition of her service as a writer and playwright, she was inducted into the Order of Canada (2003) and she received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012).
