Linda Moore McDowell

Historian.

Born at Elkhorn, she received her education training and BA degree from Brandon University and did a graduate course in Manitoba history with William David Smith at the University of Manitoba. She has teaching experience in elementary and high schools in history, in Brandon and Winnipeg. She later taught children’s literature at the Winnipeg Centre Project and developed an elementary school social studies kit for the Morris-Macdonald School Division and a curriculum kit on women’s studies for Manitoba high schools. She was editor of the MHS Transactions, numbers 30 and 31. In recognition of her community service, she received a Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal (2002). On 18 July 1964, she married fellow teacher David John McDowell.
