Archivist, historian.

Chris Kotecki graduated with a BA degree in Anthropology from the University of Manitoba in 1976. He took part in the excavation of a Métis site at St. Norbert in 1979 and subsequently was employed at the Manitoba Historic Resources Branch in the field of architectural history. He has provided public service at the Archives of Manitoba since 1984. His research interests include the history of the Archives of Manitoba, cartography of western Canada, and development of health and medicine in Manitoba. In 2018, he received the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Historical Preservation and Promotion.
