Beverley Hicks
Educator, historian. Beverley Hicks’ involvement in nursing began at the age of 16 as a nurse’s aide at Auckland, New Zealand. She came to Brandon in 1967 to take a course in psychiatric nursing, which led to a career in psychiatric nursing education. She was hired by Brandon University to teach in Canada’s first baccalaureate psychiatric nursing education program, from which she retired to complete a doctoral dissertation.
