Manitoba Communities: Beresford (Unincorporated Village, RM of Whitehead)

This community in western Manitoba, a stop on the Estevan Subdivision of the Canadian Pacific Railway, was probably named in commemoration of Lord Charles Beresford (1846-1919), captain of the gunboat HMS Condor during the bombardment of Alexandria, Egypt in 1882.
