If your organization is more than 100 years old, it is time to celebrate your history! Apply for a MHS Centennial Organization Award.

The MHS Centennial Organization Award is for non-profit and not-for-profit groups that have operated continuously in Manitoba for 100 years or more. This program complements MHS's existing programs recognizing longevity in businesses.

Non-profit groups have contributed significantly to all facets of life in Manitoba, and that their respective services have often gone unheralded. This includes but is not limited to organizations, clubs, congregations, and associations in the areas of culture, economic development, education, health, heritage, labour, politics, recreation and sport, religion, and social reform.

Centennial Organization Award recipients will receive:

    1. a certificate suitable for framing
    2. international recognition of their contributions and longevity in our Society publications and web site
    3. right to ongoing use of the Centennial Organization crest

The onus is on the applicant to provide evidence of their organization's founding year, by way of primary documentation similar to that required for Centennial Business awards. Recipients need not have existed in the same physical location throughout their duration or retain their original name and mandate, so long as they still serve their members in a non-commercial capacity. Examples of acceptable documentation will likely be varied depending on the specific applicant, and may include dated business records, minutes of meetings, ledgers, newspaper articles and advertisements, dated photographs, or other materials. MHS members are prepared to assist applicants in collecting the necessary documentation, wherever possible.

There is no application fee for this award.
