Sylvia Van Kirk

Historian.

She was a Killam Fellow at Dalhousie University and was later Assistant Professor of History there. She studied in England under grants from the IODE and the Canada Council. She contributed to learned journals and the Dictionary of Canadian Biography and completed her doctoral thesis on the subject of Role of Women in Fur Trade Society in the Canadian West for her PhD at the University of London. She is professor emerita of History at the University of Toronto.
