Alfred Ernest Parr

Broadcaster.
Born at Caron, Saskatchewan on 14 June 1913, he taught high school in Saskatchewan and British Columbia before becoming a producer at CBC Manitoba in 1948. He later became program director of radio station CBW and was promoted to assistant regional program director. In 1964, he was appointed special assistant to the CBC's director for the prairie provinces, responsible for public relations, emergency broadcasting, and project development. He served as President of the Winnipeg Press Club (1956).
He was married twice, first to Helen Elaine Hierithy (c1918-1972) with whom he had a daughter and four sons. His second wife was Mae (?-?).
He died at Toronto, Ontario on 6 December 1998.
